hey all...

I just wanted to write a little about what's going on for us in AC land. Aside from the fact that im still a bit ill with a throat infection (fever is gone phew ). We've finally reached the end of our 2007 touring. It was a long one but we had tons of fun playing the shows and basically just want to say thanks and thanks again to everyone that came out and checked out the show. Also i want to say thanks to geo and panda for saving the day when i was at my lowest and to those who understood the situation and sat back and enjoyed.....or danced...i saw you guys in dublin!

A few interesting tidbits to note. While we were in sweet Europe we had a chance to film a "take away show" with vincent moon which is currently in the editing process and (I think) it should be cool if it ends up being ok to use. Be on the look out. Also... we recorded three songs in london for a bbc radio show which i believe will air in a couple of weeks...this will include our more recent live versions of Doggy and Heylight plus two newer jams (but not any of the songs we played live on this tour). It would be cool if i could remember what the show was called huh? oh well...

Moving further into the future... brian, josh, and I are going into rare book room next week to finish mixing an ep with Nicholas which will include Street Flash and three other songs that are apart of the strawberry jam era. Cant say when this will be released but we hope it will be around next spring.

oh yeaaahh... as you have seen we are playing ATP in may (thats the Explosions In The Sky show i believe) and hopefully doing some other european shows around that not to mention playing a few shows in japan (in march) and perhaps playing at least one show in april in the USA....

we're making plans now to record early next year but there's not much more to say about that except that we are excited about it and that yes, we are trying to record near the beach!

Finally....we are finally finishing up our website and should have something new up by december with lots of fun things and sweet jams to check out (fingers crossed)...oh yeah and plans to start working on the artwork for the 3 lp box are underway too so hopefully it wont be much longer on that either...but don't email catsup plate about it just yet...we will let you know when its just about ready

hope all is well...feel good

Dave,

1) 3lp's art work should be fan-based -- that would be SO sick so we could all work on stuff and submit it for a collage-effect.....mmm mmmm ... dreammmmm

2) That show you're thinking of doing in April in the USA should DEFINITELY be at Red Rocks in Colorado!!! I missed you this past tour as you guys didn't hitup CO, sadly, and April would be around not only my 21st bday but, more imporantly, 4/20 Laughing Mr. Green Laughing

3) keep on keepin' on man, that's amazing news about all, though i'd love to hear dates for post-SJ/street flash ep sooooooooooooooon

4) you and your 3 buds being alive makes me still want to be alive .

the bbc show is called rob da bank, i think. i wasn't sure if it was the dj's name or the name of the show, so maybe it's rob dabank's show? someone at domino told me it is the show that has taken over for the john peel show. they said they think it will air on november 18th, but it wasn't definite. also, they made me do the interview a couple days before we went into the studio and at that point we weren't sure what we were going to play or what we would call the songs. i may have given some wrong info. i had no idea they were gonna ask me to talk about the songs we were gonna play before we even recorded them. i called one maya, which was the first title we used, but that was abandoned. i just didn't know what else to call it. also, you know when you have a couple things in your head and then you think back a few minutes and you go "wait did i just say the right thing or did i say what i was thinking out loud?" i left the interview room thinking "did i say we were gonna play who could win a rabbit?" and i still don't know. guess we'll find out on the 18th, if they stick to their scheduling plan.

ah, so much great news. The Take-Away shows are always great, so I'm very excited about that. Rob Da Bank has two consecutive shows on Sunday night/Monday morning (midnight-2am and 2am-4am), so it looks like it could be a late night for those of us who want to hear it live. The BBC archive all of their shows, though. He was in the old John Peel slot, until Radio 1 decided that people who like music that isn't incredibly popular don't sleep, and relegated all of the interesting music shows to v. late night/v. early morning slots, woop! Despite his odd choice in name, his show is pretty good. Last week had a Battles live session in the first part and a guide to minimal techno in the second.

Do you know where the ATP appearance will fit into the UK tour? I've been thinking about going to the other ATP the weekend before, but I think I'd give it a miss if it coincided with yr return to Glasgow...

Could this Maya be the sister song to Derek on Strawberry Jam? I sure hope so if it's specifically your song Brian. Baleen Sample was magick Exclamation Cool

Can't wait to hear it at any rate, I really wanted Doggy/Hey Light reworkings to have their own proper studio (radio) takes... Twisted Evil Mr. Green

Do you think you can play in Portugal in may? I only ask because I've been dying to see you play and you guys haven't played here for about two years, and have toured three times in Europe since. It's true that we get to see Noah more often because he lives here but still I wish I could see you playing as a band. Did you think about playing here and/or tried to speak to a promoter or venue while you were rehearsing in Lisbon before the summer tour?

thanks for the good news!

If I understand correctly 'Maya' is not a strawberry jam outtake, it's a newer one. Maybe you knew that, but it seems like you're referring to the song that Geo wanted to end the record with.
